主な違い – 正確さ vs. 精密さ
Accuracy and Precision are important concepts when talking about measurements. Although these two concepts are often interrelated, there is a marked difference between the two and the presence of one does not ensure the other, i.e., accuracy and precision are independent of each other. The main difference between accuracy and precision is that accuracy specifies how close a measurement is to the correct or accepted value whereas precision specifies the closeness of two or more measurements to each other.
精度とは
Accuracy is “the degree to which the result of a measurement, calculation, or specification conforms to the correct value or a standard.” In other words, accuracy specifies how close a measurement is to the accepted or correct value. Accuracy is getting a value that is close to the real value. For example, if you obtain a weight measurement of 3.2 kg value while the real value is 3.2, your measurement is accurate. Similarly, if you hit a bull’s eye in a shooting competition, your aim is accurate. Let’s look at another example to clarify the meaning of accuracy. Imagine a game of basketball; if the player shoots the ball into the or close to the basket, he is shooting with accuracy. But accuracy is not the only thing that will help him to win the game; he’ll also need precision. Now, let’s look what precision is.

精度とは、”測定、計算、仕様における精巧さ、特に与えられた桁数で表されるもの “です。
言い換えれば、精度は、2つ以上の測定値が互いに近いことを示します。
測定するたびに同じような測定値が得られるのであれば、その測定は正確であると言えます。
上で議論された例を簡単に見て、精度がどのように適用できるかを見てみましょう。
もし、あなたが5回測定して、毎回3.2kgの測定値が得られたら、その測定は正確です。
同じように、射撃競技をしていて、毎回同じところに命中すれば、その狙いは正確です。
ただし、「正確さ」と「精密さ」は、それぞれ独立した概念であることも忘れてはいけません。
精度が高ければ、自動的に精度が高いというわけではありません。
例えば、正確さはあっても、精度がない場合があります。
一度は正鵠を射ることができても、その後、狙いが定まらなくなることがあります。
同じように、同じ場所に命中しても、その場所は雄牛の目から遠く離れているかもしれません。
この場合、正確さはあるが、精度はない。
