主な違い – 習慣 vs 伝統

どの社会、地域、家族にも、共通の伝統や習慣があります。

この2つの言葉、伝統、風習は同じ意味で使われることが多いのですが、習慣と伝統には若干の違いがあります。

習慣と伝統の主な違いは、それらに関連する時間の長さにある。

慣習とは、特定の社会、場所、時間において、一般的に受け入れられている行動や行動の様式のことである。

伝統とは、慣習や信条が世代から世代へと受け継がれることである。

伝統とは何か

伝統とは、特定の地域、社会、家族などの人々が長い間守ってきた行動、思考、または行為の方法です。

伝統は、ある世代から別の世代へと受け継がれる考えや信念であることもあります。

それは、ある特定の宗教、文化、あるいは家族に共通するものである場合もあります。

例えば、ある家族のメンバーは、1年のうち特定の日にパーティーを開くことができます。

この習慣が何世代にもわたって何年も続くと、一族の伝統になることがあります。

While following traditions are not obligatory, many people follow traditions as it is the way of life that they have been taught from childhood. However, it is always better to follow a tradition after knowing the origins and the reason behind that tradition. Since traditions are not strict rules and regulations, it is always possible to change certain aspects of a tradition. In fact, most of the traditions we follow today are variations of an original tradition; over the time, people have added and omitted certain aspects of a tradition. For example, if we look at the history of the Christmas traditions, Christmas trees were traditionally decorated with edibles like apples and nuts; it was in the 18^th century that it began to be illuminated by candles. Today Christmas trees are decorated with electric lights and various ornaments.

カスタムとは

習慣とは、多くの人々や特定の場所、集団に共通する使い方や慣習のことです。

特定の社会、場所、時間において、一般的に受け入れられている行動や習慣のことです。

それぞれの文化、社会、宗教には、その習慣があります。

例えば、ある国ではお辞儀は尊敬と感謝を表す方法です。

 Just like traditions, a custom can start in a family; a certain gesture, behavior or act becomes a custom when it is constantly practiced. When a custom is followed for many years and passed down to younger generations, it becomes a tradition.

習慣とは、新しい慣習である場合もあります。

伝統とは、常に何年も受け継がれてきた習慣のことである。
